Sandhills Community College Photowalk Series
Building on the successful photography program at Sandhills Community College, we would like to invite you to join in a Photowalk series this Spring. Beginning at 9 am, Tuesday, March 14 at the SCC Horticultural Gardens.
If you are new to Photowalks, here’s what they are about. We take a leisurely stroll, typically in a scenic location, with the purpose of taking photographs. It is a popular activity among photographers, as it allows us to explore and capture images of interesting subjects and landscapes.
We’ll start at the Ball Visitors Center at 9 am with a list of things to look for. Call it a photo scavenger hunt. Then, we’ll walk together or in small groups and share photography tips and techniques, and try to find the items on the list. Parking is free.
Photowalks are a great way to get exercise, practice photography skills, and connect with other photographers who share similar interests. It doesn’t matter what kind of camera you have - DSLR, Mirrorless, or iPhone. Just come and have fun capturing what you see. After the walk, post your photos on my website so others can see your work. Looking at other photographers’ images is a great way to improve. Here is the link to the upload folder: https://johnpatota.smugmug.com/upload/mX43vX/iPhone After you have uploaded your photos hit Done in the upper right corner to peek at what others have posted.
Bring comfy shoes, and water as the Photowalk will last about 2 hours. In case of inclement weather, we will have to reschedule.
Other Photowalk we have scheduled are Tuesday, March 21 in Southern Pines starting at the train station and Tuesday, March 28 in the Village of Pinehurst starting from the Village Green. They will all start at 9 am and last about 2 hours. Hope to see you on Tuesday!
